Professional Development Doesn't Have To Suck...

Professors have often had 0 hours learning about learning.
K-12 teachers often fall short as subject matter experts or due to so much classroom management, they cannot meaningfully teach.
Let me help you change that...
From neuroscience to learning research to ed tech to gamification to communication, there is a better
Dr. Borden is an expert on a handful of things. But unfortunately they are things that most people feel they inherently know how to do well. (They don't.)
Expertise takes study, research, experimentation, submersion, seeking contradiction, and more. Let me show you what an expert can do to help you!
As an award-winning speaker and innovator, I will bring new life and connection to your next event. Contact me, and we can design a workshop or presentation that fits the needs that you have today.
Speaking Topics:
Education (Neuroscience, Research, Data, Ed Tech, Gamification, and more)
Communication (Nonverbals, Persuasion, Public Speaking, and more)
Ministry (Preaching, Teaching, Leadership, Transformation, and more)
Politics (Electability, Messaging, Optics, Connection, Debate, and more)
Leadership (Vision, Mission, Storytelling, Culture, Change, and more)
We know more about the brain than ever before in history, yet none of that knowledge makes its way into the classroom. We have decades of research showcasing the importance of non-cognitive aspects to teaching, yet we still measure proxies for cognition almost solely. We have companies who have identified and leveraged the best possible technology techniques for many contexts, yet we still do our own thing, disappointing students and parents at ever turn. It doesn't have to be this way.
The key to innovation, according to experts, is associative thinking. That is, taking solutions from a non-education context and making it work in education is paramount to genuine innovation. But most educators have never been in other contexts. They have never seen other solutions, nor do they understand how most commercial, government, or other sectors work. So we are left with the same old solutions for more and more problems that are not going away, they are just getting bigger.
Most leaders struggle to focus on transformation by their people. Most pastors are either preachers OR teachers OR managers OR entrepreneurs...but rarely more than one. Most politicians struggle with the basics of persuasion, inoculation, meaningful storytelling, and communication. Many lawyers lose if a case actually goes to trial. But all of this can be learned. There is a better way. Hear more from someone who has worked with CEOs, helped turn around churches, helped get people elected, and helped lawyers win cases.
For more information on talks, fees, and availability, send me a message. Tell me about your event, and I will get back to you soon with more information.
